Social Bookmarking

Social Bookmarking could be very useful for sharing resources regarding simulation education and resources for the development of scenarios. I like that others could have access to the same material if so needed. However, my attempt to add the Delicious Bookmark was completely unsuccessful. I followed the directions and it never appeared on my toolbar. I do not know if it is because I was using my work computer and therefore it was denied, but I see the benefits in the work area not my in my personal life. This is primarily because when at home, I prefer not to be on the computer.

Any input would be helpful.

Podcast

I found that the podcast of interest could not be downloaded to my google reader. However, the link could be. I am finding this very useful. I like having all of my interested links in one spot. I am training for a marathon so I am utilizing these tools to keep updated on information regarding marathon training. The podcasts I added to my google reader are podcasts from the Running World website. I do think this will be beneficial. I have also thought that I am going to use the blog as my journal for training for a marathon.

The Laryngospasm

Another Favorite!!

The Laryngospasm

The Pink Glove Dance

This was spread throughout IME. It brings a smile to my face everytime I watch it. I found it very inspirational that an institution was able to get such wide spread involvement of the employees with in its organization. I believe HealthPartners can do something big like this too.

RSS

Wow! The RSS... I didn't know about it before. I chose this feature after viewing the webinar provided by the librarians. I had never thought about the icons prior to this. I like the fact that I could add all of my interests to one site. It is kind of like adding sites to the Favorites Tab but easier. The YouTube video was really easy to understand spiking my interest. However, most of the sites I visit regularly, I found did not have RSS feeds. I like that I can copy and paste the site and a feed will be made if one does not exist. I am curious if I can make folders or titles with a breakdown of RSS feeds in each to limit the amount of titles I have to scroll through.

I feel like a world my 12 yr old son already knows about is available to me. Yeah!!! By subscribing to the Google Reader, I have learned about the calendar and document feature. I really like these. I am hoping that I can combine my outlook calendar from work with this calendar. Does anyone know how to do this?

My interest has been spiked. I am getting excited for new learning opportunities.
